Where you do it
If you haven’t checked out the two other posts that are connected to this blog post, I recommend you visit them now or after you finish reading this blog post. As you know, there are four W’s that you need to take control of in your life. What you do, When you do it, Whom you do it with and of course the one I am about to tell you about. Where you do it.
Where would you work if you had no geographical limitation or any kind of consequences? Would you work at a kiosk in the coast of Costa Rica, or would you stay working at your 9-5 base like the rest of the workaholics? Be honest with yourself, there is no right or wrong answer. I asked one of my friends this question and he could not give me an honest answer. The problem: he is so brainwashed into believing you need to work a cubicle or inside four walls.
The reality is that you can work anywhere you want to work from. One of my friends told me his friend is working from home now while he plays Xbox 360 and he works for a big Fortune 500 company. This guy might not make a 5 figure income, but at least he is controlling when he does his work, of course what he does, and WHERE he does his work from. He’s got a lot of control of his life for someone that works for THE MAN. A lot of my mentors work from the other sides of the world and do business with people from the U.S. My girlfriend’s favorite wedding photographer will fly in to your own town to take engagement photos and weddings, too, if you hire her (over 80 weddings in two years). She lives in California! All you need these days to take care of whatever you need is a laptop and an internet connection. You can find that even in third world countries.
Whether you just want to control WHERE you do your work, to be able to have more time to travel or because you hate working in that cubicle, liberating yourself from where your two feet stand when you are doing work, it’s important you decide NOW. You don’t want to keep waiting for the little brain inside of you to start telling you it’s okay or impossible to do your work from a beach in Krabi. If you don’t believe me ask Cody Mckibben yourself.
