Ever since I started writing about how to increase my blog traffic and how to find keywords for your blog I’ve been seen something awesome happening to wilsonusman dot com.
The stats are going up…
I would be lying to you if I told you that wasn’t the goal in the past few weeks. I’ve never really got into the whole SEO thing up until recently and I am glad I read more into it.
By the way, a lot of you have been sending me emails asking things like, how do you increase your readership? how can I get more clicks on my blog? and how to bring more traffic to my blog? etc… so I had to write this. I like to deliver happiness to my readers.
So let’s get into what you came here for…the signs.
4 Signs that Grow When Your Traffic Grows
Blog Traffic
The first sign is the most obvious one of all; Your blog traffic goes off the wall. But that’s not the only goody that comes with it. Along with the huge increase in numbers you get other benefits from this too.
One other number that I saw grow was the pageviews; they almost tripled and the pages per visit DOUBLED. I must say this is when I knew I needed to do more SEO so that people that are looking for stuff can actually find it. Trust me, a lot of people say SEO is not important, but then they go and do it behind their sites. I just hate how misleading some people can be. I understand that if you’re good and you have remarkable content it will spread word of mouth, but hey if you can help that increase much faster, would you mind it?

Alexa Ranking
I understand if you’re new to the blogosphere you might not know what it means, so I’m going to go ahead and explain Alexa in their own words.

Again, so many people say “Oh those rankings don’t matter.” My question to them is- Why do they exist then? I’ve seen the rankings of wilsonusman dot com go from 416,459 Alexa traffic rank, 92,301 U.S traffic rank on May 26, 2010 to this…
Listen, I don’t know how important these can be, I just use them to know if I am actually moving closer to my competitors. So all of you better watch out because I am coming and I am coming fast.
Technorati Popularity
Technorati dot com is another website that I go to check on my stats. It provides popularity indexes. Everyone wants to be more popular than others right?

Among other things that you’ll see, and this goes for some people only. Say you have an email list, that will obviously keep growing, specially if you have a free ebook or something nice that people want to learn more about. Your RSS subscribers go up as well. You start seeing a lot more comments on your posts and even your twitter followers go up.
So as you can see there’re many different goodies that come from just working on increasing your blog traffic. The best thing about increasing these numbers is the tribe or community, whatever you want to call it, grows and grows.
I know that’s my biggest thing with this blog, is to grow this community so we can inform more and more people that it is possible to create a fun lifestyle following your passions and starting your own online business or blog. (I see them as one.)
