Readers Who Want to Know How to Earn Money Online | Part 2

So on Monday I did a post about how to earn money online for my readers. If you just landed on this post and you’re a total newbie when it comes to learning how to make money online, you should go back and read that. Anyway the topic for this post is going to be affiliate marketing, because that’s what I do.

The reason for this post is because I did a survey that asked people what was it that they wanted to learn more about and most people said affiliate marketing. So this is for you folks. If some of the stuff I talk about you already know I recommend you still read it because you might remember something that you’re not doing anymore. Why care? Well I still think that going back to the basics is important sometimes instead of trying the latest trick in the book.

Getting familiar with affiliate marketing is important at first if you really want to win at this game. It’s really not that hard to do it. I believe that with a lot of patience and persistence anyone can achieve a good income online through selling other people’s products in a short period of time.

At first I didn’t think so, but once I learned how to do things the right way I realized how easy it really was. As John Chow says “It only takes two hours a day.” Don’t get me wrong the more time you put into learning it at first the faster you’ll start making dough.

To give you an idea when I first started learning affiliate marketing I would spend my time online and on book reading about:

  • The basics of affiliate marketing

Let’s break that down even more:

The basics of affiliate marketing

This list is quite hefty, but here we go – finding good products to promote, building your first website or hiring out, doing market research, SEO, setting up a marketing strategy, email marketing, and creating the content.

All this can be outsourced but I still think it’s a good idea to know your business.

What I want to do is give you this source; though it is probably the best source online even though it might be old, it still works for me all the time. It’s a video by Frank Kern and it takes you on a fast track to making money as an affiliate…

Make sure you take notes.

Can I Really Find Alternative Income Online, if I Quit My Job?

alternative incomeI get a ton of emails from people that are looking for alternative ways to earn income; the first place they look for is online.

Yea, they even Googled! _How do I make money online?_ or _Is making money online a scam?_

Recently somebody asked me if there were ways that she could replace the money she was making offline ($2000 per month) with resources online. It took me a second to tell her. YES YOU CAN!!

Listen, if you’re that person, you don’t have to worry. I will be honest though, if you’ve never used a computer before the learning curve can be pretty long before you start seeing profits coming in sometimes.

Some people will join a “Master Mind” and crush it in a month though. But you have to be disciplined, and not get information-overloaded. A lot of us honest online marketers will tell you the truth. _*We made this mistake.*_

Like I said, if you’re disciplined, you can make this a walk in the park and start making profits in no time, leveraging the power of the Internet.

I’ve been doing this Internet thing for over 18 months now, so I can say I know a little bit. I’ve read the books and blogs, joined master minds and spent money on online scams; and I know the secret to replacing that offline income with alternative income resources.

Here are a few alternative resources to begin your journey and free yourself from that 9 to 5 that you dread going to every morning. These are people that DO earn money on the Internet and were average people just like you and me…

Check them out:

  • Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income

The person that I have the utmost respect for, Pat Flynn, runs a blog called smartpassiveincome.com where he give a lot of advice and tips to become successful online and start making a healthy passive income Pat makes money online in so many different ways and he’s always sharing the best ways to do this with his readers. The way Pat started was writing on eHow, but he then created a site based on his notes for a test (you need to hear the whole story)…

Anyway I recommend you visit smartpassiveincome.com.

  • Darren and Yaro “The Kings of Blogging I Call Them”

Another two people in the Internet world that make a full-time, if not more, income online through blogging are Darren Rowse and Yaro Starak. I put them together because they have blogs that teach beginners and pros how to blog better, and more. Darren’s blog is called Problogger.net and Yaro’s is Entrepreneurs-Journey.com. If you’re just a newbie, use the information that they have. It’s really amazing!

  • Glen Allsop from Viperchill

This guy is only 20 years old, but the reputation he has online for making money is incredible! Glen Allsop, from Viperchill.com, has a new site about viral marketing that always produces MUST READ content. I like this blog very much and I feel like I learn something new every time I read his posts. Glen pretty much creates mini-sites that sell products through affiliate marketing. He also makes a full-time income, and, again, he’s only 20.

There you have it…

Four people that, combined all together, have over 10 alternative ways they make money online. They don’t scam, hype or make false promises. Everything they have is because of hard work. Thanks to the opportunities of the Internet these guys don’t have to go to a 9 to 5 job.

If you want to quit your job, to start making money online, don’t do it just yet. It takes time to learn it and you want to make sure you are learning from the right people. These four guys should be in your bookmarks immediately…

One last thing. The biggest mistake I made when I started was NOT wanting to spend money on courses and master minds. After about six months I took a leap of faith and I started buying ebooks and what not. I’ll be honest…I got scammed some times, but it was because I was too new and I didn’t know who was real and who was not. And in some situations it wasn’t that I got scammed, it was just

Luckily, after I joined niche profit classroom (affiliate) I learned how important it is to be a part of a group or membership. It only cost $1 dollar to join, so I did it. I thought, what’s a dollar, you know? Well it was the most well spent dollar in my life. So glad I did it. Adam is the nicest guy ever and his membership speaks for itself.

If you know any other alternative income resources, besides blogging, niche sites, mobile apps, and info products, be kind and share them below in the comments section. If you know any membership sites also I don’t mind if you leave a link as long as it’s not spam. Thanks!

One Billion Pesos of Wisdom for the Week

Every week I like to look around to web to find what’s going on in the world of business to help you get to the top. In the world of entrepreneurship specifically. Looking over some of my favorite business related blogs I found 5 great resources that I think you should read if you are an entrepreneur.

The first resource comes straight from a Kauffman Study just released this month. I took a peek at it, its only 12 pages long but it has some great info about startup companies and how they are creating millions of jobs annually while others are just destroying. The name of the study is The Importance of Startups in Job Creation and Job Destruction. I just want to thank all the entrepreneurs out there kicking but and helping the economy. If you’re unemployed in this economy is because you’re not indispensable.

Onstartups.com is a blog a recently stumbled upon and I am glad I did. It’s funny because I landed on a guest post by Mike Volpe, which some of you might already be familiar with. If you know about the Hubspot blog then you know Mike.

Anyway The ABC’s of Startup Marketing really caught my attention. Mike shares five of the most important marketing lessons that he’s learned.

This The Art of the Bootstrap was just another great presentation…

We all have a business idea at some time in hour life. I know I have about one of them a day. That’s why I don’t understand when people say they can’t think of anything. If you can think of just one great idea, you can become a huge success. Every month there’s about 550 thousands business ideas getting started.

The question is; which one is going to make it?

You May Have A Successful Small Business Idea put out some interesting tips and guidelines that a starter might just need to bootstrap a startup.

In every book I’ve ever read on sales or copywritting I always seem to learn the same thing about persuasion. I guess some things just never change. I really liked the Brian took The Force that Powers Persuasive Content (And 3 Ways to Intensify It) and really mixed it around and made it more interesting. REALLY unique!

Young Entrepreneur Dele Onibalusi’s Interview

Every week I’ve approaching new bloggers to share some knowledge with us here at wilsonusman dot com, so that other can begin their journey to start their own online business or blog. This week I had the chance to get a hold of a great blogger by the name of Dele Onibalusi. Listen to what he shared with us…

Tell us something about yourself first and something about you got started blogging?

Hi Wilson, I will first like to say it is a pleasure and I am so humbled to be interviewed by you. I must confess this is my first interview online.

I am Onibalusi Bamidele, a 16 year old Nigerian Blogger. I am what I will call a computer geek, I got my first computer at the age of 13. I had been hearing how people suddenly became rich as a result of the internet, I was able to convince my mother to buy me a computer (I lost my father when I was 7).

I started a blog on which I shared technology related things, very soon I began to go into the make money niche and by God’s grace I am where I am today.

What did you do before you started blogging? Have ever had a job?

No, I am just 16, so I am still a student. I am just a student but unlike others, I don’t play around with friends and I hardly watch football. I have even spent 20 hours on the computer at a stretch making me sleep only four hours on a particular day. My interest lies where there is internet

Are you making a full time income or are you at least where you want to be, in terms of money?

Yeah! I am not yet making full time income and that is intentional, I want to work out a great income stream that will not depreciate and that will come in the form of a membership website. I am not presently where I am supposed to be but I am making money online and I am achieving success with my blog.

How did you really learn to blog? Like did you read any blogs or buy any products?

I am self-made, I never bought books. If I manage to get one, I might not even read it (except now that I am growing in the niche – i need to expand my knowledge).

I read other blogs and when I started out I have had the pleasure to be blessed (I mean relate with and learn from) some great bloggers like Hesham Zebida from famousbloggers, the guy is really encouraging and humble and unlike some other bloggers he does not despise you because you are small or so, in general I will say he has seriously impacted my general blogging life.

How long did it take you before you actually started making $1 online?

Well, that was in 2009, It only took days. I am just blessed with some skills, I got 150 visitors to my first website on its first day. My first $1 was with Adsense.

Most people that you talk to online have had a rough beginning, what would you say was the toughest part when you where just getting started?

Wow! I don’t have any of such problem because I can spend millions of hours on the computer if I am allowed, but due to my country (Nigeria) being a developing country I had problem accessing the internet – I think that is my major problem.

If all the blogs online where deleted, besides yours, which one would you want to stay up?

If I am clear, You mean which blog would I want to remain? Mine of course OR if I get you right, do you mean except mine? I will love viperchill to remain.

For people just getting started on their first blog, what’s the best advice you can pass on to them?

Wow! Follow your passion, believe in yourself and learn from those that are there. First class experience is very good and you might not believe that my blog (youngprepro) is about 3 months or so (not my first blog though). Experience is what matters most so learn from those that are there.

Would you ever trade the lifestyle that you have right now for a high paying 9 to 5? why?

I have always said it that I will never work for any man, NEVER! I will never work under another man because I hate being controlled and I have my way of doing things which has never failed me so I would not like another man to come and enforce his on me, I also don’t want to be at the mercy of another man

Would you say their is a way for a new blogger to shorten their learning curve?

It is very simple, Learn from those that are there.

If you had to give one tip that’s unique and useful for a new blogger or person looking to start their online business what would that be?

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

Opportunity, Hard Work, Passion…Hustle…

opportunity“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”
– Thomas A Edison

Are you new to blogging? Have you bought over 10 digital products on how to make money online? How to get more traffic to your blog?

Don’t feel bad; you’re not alone.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve made that mistake. We are all looking for that “magic dust” to sprinkle on our blog, or that secret that’s going to helps us become a problogger.

The truth is, there really isn’t any secret or magic bullet that will help you achieve this…well actually there is. It’s HARD WORK!!

If you’re serious about making blogging a career, then you have to give it all you got. Yes, it will be tough staying up until 3 a.m sometimes writing. But you won’t feel tired or bored, because you’re for once doing something that you’re passionate about. If writing is something you like. If you’re doing it for money, JUSSST quit now.

When I first learned that you could make money online I was hooked.

I had  a “friend” who explained to me how to sell digital products online. I had never heard of such a thing. Long story short, this “friend” told me, and even showed me, how every time his cell phone would send him a message saying “Your Account has been Credited” or something like that. I just remember him getting an emails to his cell phone all the time and it would add up by the end of the day to up to $150 in just one day. He said those were products he sold for the day.

I couldn’t get started because I didn’t even have a computer at the time and I couldn’t just leave my J.O.B (just over broke) at that time. But gladly the day came one day sometime in January of 09 when I went to the bookstore and picked-up Darren Rowse’s Problogger book and I new it was a sign.

That same weekend I decided I wasn’t going back to that J.O.B the next week and I was going to learn how to use the internet to make a living. I read that book in two days and I started reading his blog which led me to Yaro, and Gary Vaynerchuk, and other well know bloggers. Fast-forward 11 months it was December and I had not started making a dime online, but I had spent hundreds on magic bullet products.

January 2010 I told my girlfriend I was gonna start a blog and so was she. We were determined to make it happen in 2010. I bought a computer and signed up for “become a blogger” so I could get started with our blogs (I had no idea how to set up a blog).

I know this is a short story of everything that I actually did in 2009, but I don’t want to bore you with all the magic bullet e-books and courses I bought, how one product turned into the next and so forth, realizing months later that the magic bullet was me. The only person making money online was the person that I was buying these products from.

What Should you Take from this Story?

If this relates to you in some way, you have to realize that you should stop buying all those useful but incomplete products and you should start, ship, just do it!, whatever it is, but begin doing something NOW!

So that you don’t make the same mistakes that we made.

You should stop buying products and go get a domain. If you are looking for that magic bullet, just pick a market and crush it. And if you’re crying about why everyone is making money and you’re not then focus on one thing and don’t change it until you start making money off it.

Just start putting all that knowledge that you have into ACTION!

Three fundamentals that have helped me as a beginner:

Find your passion before you even start blogging. There are thousands of blogs started today, that fail in their first day. They failed way before they started the blog, because they are blogging about something they really don’t like or have the chops to talk about.

“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.”
– Dale Carnegie

Will Not Give Up, Some Hell or High Water kind of attitude. I will say this; there has been times where I don’t get any comments and I just want to say forget about it, but just thinking about how much time and effort I have put into this it would be worst of a waste just to go and get a 9 to 5 J.O.B. So stick to stick and don’t you even think about looking back once your in.

Hustle. Period. Either you work hard or you don’t. You already know who is going to get the rewards.

This is my story. Start writing yours now. Specially if you are young and hungry. Some kids just want to be out there joking around and partying wasting their lives. If you really want to enjoy your life to the fullest this is the best opportunity of our time. It’s so positive to have people like Rob Rammuny changing the world at such young age.

The proof is here. 12 months of hard work can pay off, if you truly decided to grab the bull by its horns and go with it.
