Today at wilsonusman dot com we bring in another new blogger under 18. Don’t be fooled by the age, because it doesn’t matter; the experience is what counts. Besides there are 40, 30, and even 20 year old’s online that are just starting out and when it comes to blogging, it’s a whole new ball game. It really doesn’t matter if you’re a Doctor in anything. You’re still a newbie as a blogger and you have to learn something entirely new. So let’s me introduce you to Joe. At just 13, he’s already involved in 3 websites, but you can find him at his home site WebsiteBegin dot com. He’s really passionate and inspiring and I only hope the best of success for him.
Listen to what he told us…
Tell us something about yourself first and something about you got started blogging?
Well, I am a 13 year old entrepreneur who is trying to help others build and manage their first website or blog on my website, WebsiteBegin. I have had over 6 blogs in the last 3 or 4 years, so I have a lot of experience. It really all started when I wanted to make a fan site for an online game I played at the time, so I went to WordPress.com and opened a blog (that I have since closed). Ever since then, I have had a major love for blogging.
What did you do before you started blogging? Have ever had a job?
Before I started blogging, I was a game designer for a minor gaming company that I created. It wasn’t anything big, but I did create 7 or 8 games before I started blogging. As for a job, I’ve never had one, and never wish to have one. Blogging is my passion, and I wish it to stay that way.
Are you making a full time income or are you at least where you want to be, in terms of money?
I currently am not making any money online because I prefer building up a community first. If I wanted to, I could monetize my website, but, like I said, I want to build up a strong following of dedicated readers first. Just a personal preference.
How did you really learn to blog? Like did you read any blogs or buy any products?
Well, my first blog (which was basically a fan site for an online game) was something I just figured out on my own. It wasn’t very successful in the long run, though. So, I eventually got to talking with Rob Rammuny from RobsWebTips and he helped me start my blog. He taught me a lot of the basics.
Most people that you talk to online have had a rough beginning, what would you say was the toughest part when you where just getting started?
When I was getting started, money was definitely an issue. I was really short on cash which has caused a lot of time to be wasted. If I had the money sooner, I would have been able to start WebsiteBegin earlier, thus allowing more growth. But hey, you can’t change the past, right?
If all the blogs online where deleted, besides yours, which one would you want to stay up?
I would like to see RobsWebTips and my blog stay online if all others were deleted. He did, as I said before, help me get started, so it’s only fair that he stays online, too, right?
For people just getting started on their first blog, what’s the best advice you can pass on to them?
If you are just starting a blog, make sure you NEVER, no matter how difficult things are, GIVE UP. I’ve seen people who have a lot of potential just give up because they aren’t making enough money. With time, and effort, you WILL reach your goals and get where you want to be. Giving up will only hold you back and prevent anything positive from happening, right?
Would you ever trade the lifestyle that you have right now for a high paying 9 to 5? why?
I wouldn’t ever trade the lifestyle I am living right now for any amount of money. The reason is, I don’t want to live the 9 to 5. I don’t want to have a boss telling me what to do or what time I have to go to work. I like taking breaks and vacations whenever I want.
Would you say their is a way for a new blogger to shorten their learning curve?
The best way to learn is trial and error, so the more you try, the more you will learn. So, is there a way to shorten your learning curve? No. You just have to try your hardest and figure things out.
Don’t forget to stop by his website if you want to learn more about how to build and manage your website, he really has some interesting articles that you can learn from and apply to your website.

Great interview, and its awesome to see these young entrepreneurs start at such a young age. Reminds me of me when I was a young buck! Ha. I’m 27 now, but I started by first web site around that age in 1996. It was called “Mike’s Web Page” (very original), and for the life of me I can’t remember what the heck it was about. I dabbled in all kinds of internet business until about 2000 when I started University, and didn’t get back into internet business seriously until 2010, after 5 years in the 9 to 5. And to think what I would have accomplished had I stayed online, blogged and continued trying to make money online. Took 5 years in the corporate world to figure out thats the life what I don’t want, but at least its not too late

Hey Alex,
Glad you enjoyed it. I thought he really had an interesting story as well. I am impressed with these young guns these days. I am trying to teach my sister to blog, because she has all these dreams and all, but I don’t think she has the passion. Joe definitely has some passion you can tell; I really think blogging isn’t for everyone even though I want to see everyone use blogging to follow their dreams
I always told Joe he is going to be a billionaire before he leaves his house
Ha ha, Nice… That’s good inspiration. Nothing in live is impossible as long as you keep those thoughts alive and have enough of strong desire, definite purpose and a plan of attack you can make it happen.
