If the words FREE and EASY sound good to you, then yes. It really helps your blog run very effectively and efficiently. Although there are many other good platforms out there too. But if you ask me, and many other bloggers, they would recommend WordPress because it offers an amazing amount of features, but its also FREE.
Here is a nice overview of the other platforms:
External Hosted:
- WordPress.com: this is different from WordPress.org-don’t confuse it.
- Blogger.com is the Google version.
- TypePad.com
- LiveJournal.com
- BlogHarbor. com
These are all great, but not what I normally talk about in this blog. If you are new to blogging just use them to get a feel for them.
I want to wish you a ton of success and that you enjoy many other post to come.

Hey mate! Keep blogging. I am a recent WordPress convert. Sometimes the combination of WP + GoDaddy Hosting makes me want to kill myself, especially when my other blog is hosted on ‘Posterous’. But I am sticking to in 2010, hoping ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’.
good stuff sid I like the blog looking forward to see you at the top just keep busy and remember that hard work will pay off at the end. I read your 2 post they’re a good start.
WordPress.com is and is not the same thing as WordPress.org. WordPress.org is simply where people can get WordPress to install it to their own servers and get tech support for it. WordPress.com is running the Multi-User version of WordPress and is essentially a way for people to try out WordPress and see how they like it, or have WordPress blogs without having to pay for hosting & domain names. Having used all of the above blogging platforms, WordPress.org is the best way to go once you really get into blogging – although a lot of people still prefer WordPress.com or Blogger.com for their blogs.
People should be more concerned about quality, and origins of the products.
Wordpress is mainly developped in the USA, i think, and has good quality : it is made for me
